Weekly Update: November 20-24, 2023

During the month of November, we pray for racial justice, the equal and fair treatment for people of all races.

God of justice,

In your wisdom you create all people in your image.
We thank you for the dignity, beauty
and worth you give to each one of us.
We thank you for making us all your children,
brothers and sisters in the same human family.
Open the hearts of all people.
Free us of attitudes, behaviours and words
that do not show love and respect for others.
Give us the courage to speak out
and speak up against racial injustice.
Strengthen us to find ways to heal wounds,
build bridges, forgive and be forgiven,
and establish peace and equality for all in our community.

In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.

We thank parents and guardians for their participation in parent-teacher interviews. It is through our collaborative and sustained efforts that we will support students in reaching their full potential.

Anti-Bullying Week

This week (November 19th to 25th) is designated as Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week in Ontario. Beginning this week and continuing throughout the school year, students will learn about conflict resolution and managing emotions. They will also develop understanding of different forms of bullying, and strategies to respond to situations involving conflict and bullying. We look forward to supporting students in their continued learning and application of learning throughout the year.

Closing Prayer

Let us pray…

Lord help us to lead our world in the ways of justice and peace.
Help us to be at peace with ourselves, our families, friends and neighbours.
May peace – not conflict – arise from our hearts wherever we go.
Help us to be active peacemakers to bring peace into the world
by whatever means we are able.
Help us never to stand back and watch people suffer,
but to look for solutions in the smallest and the largest situations.
May our peace be a sign of strength and not of weakness,
That others may follow peace with peace.

Amen.

St. Mark, pray for us.

Wishing you a wonderful week!

Sincerely,
C. Quadrini, Principal
