Weekly Update: December 24, 2023

Today is Christmas eve and the fourth Sunday of Advent.  The purple candle for this week is called the “peace” candle. The light of this candle reminds us of the peace that comes to our hearts through Jesus Christ.

God of love,

May we use the gifts of the Spirit of God
to help bring about the reign of peace
and understanding in our world.
May the Spirit of peace and hope
be with us during this Advent season.

Amen.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Catholic School Council (CSC)

We thank families for their ongoing participation in the St. Mark’s CES hot lunch program.  St. Mark’s CSC has opened up ordering for January 2024 at this time, and is reviewing the ordering process for February to June 2024. Further information will follow in the new year.

Christmas Charity Fundraiser

Thank you for your support of our candy grams sales as part of our Christmas Charity fundraiser! Students were excited to give and receive candy grams.

Our school is thrilled to announce that the sale of candy grams raised $1035! Thank you for your generosity!

The funds raised from our candy gram sales, along with the Kindergarten & Primary Christmas Concert reserved seating and parking draw sales ($665) were combined for a total of $1700! What a joy it was to give a cheque for this amount to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul – St. Mark Parish Conference, on behalf of our school community! The representatives were overwhelmed by the generosity of our parents and guardians, and are very grateful for this donation. This money will support many people in need in our Stouffville community during this Christmas season, and beyond.

Thank you once again for your support of our Christmas Charity fundraiser!

Christmas Message and Closing Prayer

On behalf of the staff at St. Mark CES, I wish you and your family a blessed Christmas. May the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ bring joy, hope, love and peace in your homes and during gatherings.

We look forward to seeing students back at school on Monday, January 8th, 2024. Our weekly update will resume on Sunday, January 7th.

St. Mark, pray for us.

Merry Christmas!
