Weekly Update: February 12-16, 2024

Ash Wednesday takes place this week on February 14th. This day is the beginning of our Lenten journey as we prepare for Easter, the greatest feast of the Church year.

Let us reflect upon the changes we need to make in our lives so that we can better reflect a life of Christ.

Dear God,
As we begin the season of Lent,
grant us perseverance in our journey of
fasting, alms giving and prayer.
Please renew our commitment
towards a life full of Christ.
May this season bring us the
blessing of Your forgiveness
and the gift of Your light.
Amen.

Carnaval Week

We continue to celebrate Carnaval on February 12th and 13th! Please see our theme days calendar below.

We thank all parents and guardians who volunteered at one or more of our Carnaval events last week: Primary skating, Junior skating and Kindergarten Rupert Park outing. Students, staff and parents/guardians had so much fun, and many wonderful memories were created! We thank M. Isada for coordinating these Carnaval events, and look forward to this week’s remaining Carnaval activities. Vive le Carnaval!

Morning and After School Routines

We thank parents, guardians and caregivers for parking their vehicle in the church parking lot, and then accompanying their child(ren) to school. We also appreciate the appropriate use of the Kiss and Ride loop.

A reminder to parents, guardians and caregivers to refrain from entering the school yard and Kindergarten pen before or after school. Please do not bring pets on the school property. We also ask that parents/guardians do not smoke on school property. This includes the school yard, Kindergarten pen and walkways. Thank you for your cooperation.

the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Amen.

St. Mark, pray for us.

Wishing you a fantastic week!
