Today is Father’s Day!
We give thanks for all fathers: soon-to-be fathers, birth fathers, adoptive fathers, foster fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, those who fill in for fathers and those who play fathering roles in our lives.
Heavenly Father,
you entrusted your Son Jesus, the child of Mary,
to the care of Joseph, an earthly father.
Bless all fathers as they care for their families.
give them strength and wisdom, tenderness and patience;
Support them in the work they have to do,
protecting those who look to them,
as we look to you for love and salvation,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

In June, we celebrate Filipino Heritage Month and Italian Heritage Month. This is an important time to acknowledge the positive contributions of Canadians of Filipino heritage and Italian heritage to the social, economic, and cultural fabric of Canada. We celebrate their accomplishments!
St. Mark CES BBQ
A big thank you to our Catholic School Council for organizing an amazing BBQ! We are grateful for the delicious BBQ served, fun games played, prizes earned, beautiful weather enjoyed, and camaraderie shared!
We appreciate all the hard work of CSC members as well as parent and student volunteers who contributed to making the BBQ a successful and memorable event!

Report Cards
Term 2 report cards will be delivered electronically on Friday, June 28th, 2024, after 4:00pm via the Parent Portal.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to sign-on to the Parent Portal in advance to ensure that your username and password will allow access. Please note that the Multimedia area of the Parent Portal is not visible until report cards are available electronically (i.e., June 28th).
To access this portal, please visit our school’s website, https://smk.ycdsb.ca/, and click on the parents link in the top banner. From the Parents page, you will find a link to “Maplewood Parent Portal ConnectEd” on the right hand side.

Catholic School Council
Our last Catholic School Council meeting takes place on Thursday, June 20th at 6:30pm in the Library. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Don’t forget, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP) is seeking our support for their Pencil Case Project! This end of school year request invites donations of used school supplies to send to children of Grenada, West Indies.
Donations from the following list are greatly appreciated:
– used pencil cases and contents
– backpacks / sports bags
– rulers, erasers, sharpeners, math sets, calculators, scissors
– crayons, pencils, pens, markers, pencil crayons
– gently used toys, games, crafts
– sports equipment (e.g., balls, gloves)
– blank notebooks, blank paper, duotangs, folders
If you are willing to donate any of your child’s used school supplies, please drop them off to the front foyer on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
