Weekly Update: May 19-23, 2025

Today is Victoria Day.  This day honours the birthday of Queen Victoria and celebrates our association with the United Kingdom.

In this month of May, we pray with Mary for the gift of responsibility.

Loving God, teach us to
Count our blessings instead of our crosses;
Count our gains instead of our losses.
Count our joys instead of our woes;
Count our friends instead of our foes.
Count our smiles instead of our tears;
Count our courage instead of our fears.
Count our health instead of our wealth;
Love our neighbours as much as ourselves.
Amen.

Track & Field

As previously communicated, our school’s rescheduled Junior Track & Field Day will take place on Monday, May 26th.

Please refer to the St. Mark Track and Field Day parent letter to review details, including how to prepare children for a day outdoors (sunscreen, hat, reusable water bottle, proper footwear, athletic attire).

Kiss and Ride Loop

Thank you to all parents, guardians and caregivers for parking vehicles in the church parking lot and accompanying your child(ren) to school.

If using the Kiss and Ride loop, please do not park your vehicle along the route. It is important to keep the flow of vehicles moving safely and efficiently through the loop so please ensure that your child can independently exit the vehicle:  kiss and ride!  Thank you for your cooperation!

Active School Travel

Let’s get rolling!

Celebrate active modes of transportation like cycling and wheeling along with other students and staff across Ontario during Bike to School Week: May 27th – May 31st, 2025!

For more information on the benefits of biking to school as well as things to remember when cycling, please see the YCDSB Active School Travel May newsletter.

Blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, pray for us.

St. Mark, pray for us.

Wishing you a fantastic week!

Sincerely,
C. Quadrini, Principal
