Today is Pentecost Sunday, which takes place 50 days after Easter Sunday. At Pentecost we celebrate how the disciples and other early Christians received the Holy Spirit. Pentecost is often called the birthday of the Church.

Let us pray that we all may be open to the Holy Spirit:
God of all,
You sent Your Spirit to be with the disciples,
filling them with joy, peace and courage.
May we also be filled with Your Spirit,
be brave and share Your peace in our world.
Amen.
St. Mark CES BBQ
Don’t forget, St. Mark Catholic School Council is hosting our annual year-end community BBQ on Wednesday, June 10th from 5:30-7:30pm. The event runs rain or shine as we are able to move activities indoors, if necessary.

We will have activities (including inflatable games and our ever famous photo booth) and music during the event. This year, we will have soccer tournaments (K-2 / Grades 3-4 / Grades 5-6, weather permitting). More information will follow. Bring the whole family for a fun night out to catch up with friends and make special memories with your children!
M&M’s Stouffville will be providing the food for the BBQ. All orders must be placed in advance for your family’s orders as there will be no option to purchase combos on the night of the BBQ. Visit www.school-day.com to place your orders by Tuesday, June 2nd at 11:59pm. No exceptions will be made.
Each combo includes a bag of chips and a bottle of water and your choice of an All Beef Burger, Veggie Burger or Jumbo Beef Hot Dog. Each combo is $11
*Ice cream truck purchases can be made on site.*
Interested in volunteering at the BBQ? Share your interest by answering the questions via School-Day!
We look forward to a great event!

Red Shirt Day

During National AccessAbility Week (NAAW), the Easter Seals initiative invites Canadians to unite by wearing red in schools, workplaces, and public spaces.
This collective action aims to:
– Demonstrate support for individuals and families living with disabilities;
– Commemorate the accomplishments of people with disabilities;
– Commit to fostering a fully accessible and inclusive society that recognizes and values the contributions of individuals of all abilities throughout Canada.
Let’s join forces as Canadians, including students and staff, and wear a red shirt on Wednesday, June 3rd to celebrate the impactful roles and leadership of Canadians with disabilities, and reduce stigma and prejudiced attitudes towards people with disabilities!

Closing Prayer
In these final days of the month of May, we honour and celebrate Mary, the Mother of God.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.
St. Mark, pray for us.
Wishing you a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
C. Quadrini, Principal
